Captiva Island beach portraits
Dana and Frank were looking for a Captiva Island beach photographer for their vacation at the South Seas Island Resort. As a family, the Ferlito’s love to travel. They are originally from New York and now live in New Jersey. It was the Christmas Holiday week when they arrived. They chose Captiva Island because there was many things for the kids to do from: nature & beach walks, bike rides and swimming. During this week the weather in the Fort Myers area was beautiful with unusually warm weather and sunshine. We met in the parking lot near the ocean around noon time. The children were thrilled as their Dad, Frank was driving the family around this Captiva Island Resort in a golf cart! We began the photo session on the walkway leading to the beach. Nicolas is age 4, he was fascinated by the size of the leaves on the sea grape trees. Avianna is age 2, she found purple flowers growing along the path to the beach.
Captiva Island Beach Photographer
For over twenty years I have created natural and fun Captiva Island beach portraits. Dana and Frank told me they just arrived to the island the day before. So the children had not yet seen the ocean. I thought the family photo session would progress best if the children saw the ocean towards the end of the shoot. Mom and Dad were wonderfully patient with the children and their excitement in this new surrounding. Nick enjoyed jumping on his dad’s back when I tried to get the family together. Avianna also did her own thing for the group photographs. It was a great opportunity to photograph the family naturally. Well, it was time to walk to the beach. The waves were enormous for Captiva Island! It was a delight to see Mom and Dad have a moment to kiss at the end of the photography session, given all the demands of a vacation with little children. Shown here are my favorite images we captured of this family portrait session on Captiva Island.
