Beach Ceremony on Sanibel Island
Detlef and Kathrin were vacationing on Sanibel Island this past week. It was a last minute decision to get married with a beach ceremony! They traveled throughout Europe for some years together for their profession. Now they settled on a summer vacation island in Germany on the North Sea where they make old fashioned ice cream for the summer tourists. So they called Patricia Slater of Weddings by the Sea when they arrived for their Sanibel vacation and planned their beach ceremony. We met for photographs then walked to the secluded beach for more photographs and then their wedding vows. When the ceremony was over, they newlyweds had a champagne toast as the sun was about to set. They picked up some shells to bring home as a keepsake and it made a nice photo op too. Photographing this couple was easy, it was so obvious they were in love with the way they connected and created some nice poses for me to take. Just around sunset, Detlef and Kathrin removed their shoes and walked into the Gulf of Mexico for a few more pictures as the sunset colors grew more intense. After their beach ceremony, the bride and groom went for a celebration dinner. Shown here are my favorite photographs we created.
