Shayla and Kevin marry on Captiva Island!
This couple arrived from Boston for their destination wedding at Tween Waters Inn, so it was guaranteed to be a fun wedding! The wedding was on Captiva Island beach in front of the Old Captiva House at Tween Waters Inn. The wedding site was decorated beautifully with flowers provided by Libbys Flower Shop. The floral colors were vibrant and contrasted very well against this changing August sky. Robert Pitt of Your South Florida Wedding performed the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, a group photograph was taken and the guests then went to the Wakefield Room at Tween Waters Inn for cocktails. The afternoon Florida thunderstorm was getting closer….so we quickly had family photographs and bridal group pictures. Now, as I look at these beach photographs taken against the quick occuring stormy-gray sky, I see the color choice for the bridesmaids’s gowns was perfect! The sky that appears when a thunderstorm is arriving in the summer months provide spectacular lighting opportunities. When the storm was close, we walked up to the Wakefield Room and the bride and groom were introduced to the wedding guests by Patrick of Aace Entertainment. The fine staff at Tween Waters Inn prepared the dinner which the guests enjoyed.
Destination wedding at Tween Waters Inn
The wedding guests certainly enjoyed Tween Waters Inn, it is a great place for a destination wedding. The property is located on Captiva Island just north of Sanibel Island. It is convenient to the Fort Myers International airport. Tween Waters is a registered Historic Landmark Property. It is between the back bay waters (great for fishing) and the Gulf of Mexico. historic cottages are on the gulf side facing west. The Captiva House provides fine dining, while the Crows Nest is a fun bistro with live band music on weekends. There is great shelling on this little Island. Just a mile up Captiva Drive is the Chapel by the Sea, a one hundred year old Chapel built at the turn of the century for the few island residents. Beyond the Chapel is “downtown Captiva”. On Andy Rosse land there are fun stores and little bistros that lead to the beach at the end of the road.
After Kevin and Shayla’s wedding celebration dinner, this lively group from Boston danced and danced. A fun break from dancing was the evening lightning storm outside the Wakefield Room. The guests stood on the balcony of the Wakefield Room to enjoy the display.
