Joyful elopement on North Captiva Island
Thomas and Sarah arrived from Washington DC for a noon time wedding ceremony on North Captiva Island. Their children joined them on this island that can be reached only by boat. After several days of enjoying North Captiva Island, the couple’s friend, Tatiana, performed their wedding ceremony on the north side of the island. Certainly there are no motor vehicles on North Captiva Island, so with a couple of golf carts we all arrived to a secluded beach. We created some pictures along the way, the golf cart paths are of course sand and the natural landscaping along the paths is perfect for family photography. Thomas and Sarah decided to elope on North Captiva and realized it is a great opportunity for family portrait photography!
Elope on North Captiva Island
I have photographed many couples who chose to elope on North Captiva Island by using Island Girl Charters as a water taxi. They have a dock and office on Pine Island. The most memorable part of photographing a wedding on the island is knowing their are no vehicles on the island and the trip back from North Captiva is great at night, the moon is the only light along with vibrant stars. It is very important to catch the last boat taxi back from the island. I missed it once a few years ago and slept on a boat deck for the evening. So, after Thomas and Sarah’s elopement I had a 2:15 boat to catch. The bride and groom’s golf cart was nicely decorated for their ride from the ceremony. After the trip to Barnacle Phil’s Restaurant to pick-up my water taxi we all said good-bye!
