Everglades City wedding

Wedding at Everglades City Hall

wedding couple walk to Everglades City Hall to get marriedBrandi called and asked if I would photograph her Everglades City wedding. The wedding was scheduled for 11am at the City Hall, so we arranged to meet early to begin photographs at this historic fishing village. Everglades City is half way between Fort Myers and Miami. The area has old style cottages along the Collier River. We found interesting backgrounds to create some pre-ceremony photographs. The Royal Poinciana’s were in bloom and provided vivid colors for the pictures. I checked out the Rod & Gun Club, it is a restaurant with bed and breakfast. The classic building perfectly overlooks the Collier River.

Everglades City

Well, truth is after 30 years of living in Florida, this was my first visit to Everglades City! So, after a half hour of photography we walked into the Everglades City Hall and found Lisa, the city clerk who will perform the intimate wedding ceremony for Brandi and Kyle. She gave us free reign to choose the best backdrop for the ceremony.

Brandi and Kyle chose the commissioner’s meeting room upstairs. As we walked along the hallways we noticed old black and white¬†photographs dating back 100 years of previous mayors and pictures of the way Everglades City was historically. Lisa performed the warm and personal ceremony and did the paperwork so we were ready to create a few more pictures by the river. After the wedding, we found areas for more pictures and then the wedding couple went on their way to a celebration dinner. Shown here are some of my favorite pictures we took at this Everglades City wedding.
