Intimate wedding on Fort Myers Beach

Jennifer and Mike planned their Fort Myers Beach wedding for the Christmas Holidays. They were staying at the Pink Shell Resort which is a quick walk to Bowditch Point Park. The plan was for a sunset ceremony by the ocean. Bowditch Point is a Lee County Park located at the north end of Fort Myers Beach. The park is narrow with walking trails from the bayside to the seaside. I met Jennifer and Mike in the public parking lot of Bowditch Point. It is convenient and reasonably priced for wedding couples and their guests. There is natural and attractive landscaping along the park paths. So we started with pre-ceremony photographs before walking to the beach. There are lightly colored silver buttonwood trees and palm trees that make for great backdrops in the park. It was an hour before sunset when we started pictures, so it was time to continue the photo session on the beach.

Weddings at Bowditch Point Park

I have photographed destination weddings at this great location for over twenty years. I could see the sunset was going to look great when it set. So we continued with beach photos showing the mild waves coming across the shoreline. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Jim Berger. The Pink Shell Resort prepared a nice ceremony site with a floral decorated trellis. Jennifer had the perfect gown for a beach wedding. the light train blew softly in the wind the two newlyweds walked the beach during sunset. After the wedding ceremony, we continued with sunset photos. Jennifer and Mike then had a celebration dinner on the beach, all provided and designed by the Pink Shell Resort.
