Family Photography Session at Koreshan State Park
I photographed the Chambers family wedding about a year ago. Greta and Aaron called and asked for a family photo session since their son was just beginning to take his first steps. We talked about locations and decided Koreshan State Park would be the best location. The park is located in Estero and has a lot of natural landscaping to keep cool during this summer day in September. We met in the parking lot and began our walk through this 50 year old state park. This park began as a religious community around 1887. The last of the members gave the property over to the state in 1961 and it was appropriately named Koreshan State Park.
Our first stop was a tree that was perfect for Skylar to sit in. We continued along to the Estero River where there was a dock. Mom and dad sat with Skylar and Owen for some pictures with the beautiful Estero River as a backdrop. I captured the family hugging and kissing then suddenly Owen started crawling away from the scene. He stood up and took a few steps which I captured quickly with a motor drive camera. The extraordinary details of this one minute event is perfectly documented on my Fort Myers Photographer Facebook page.
Family Portrait Sessions
For over twenty years I have photographed family sessions on many locations from Fort Myers to Marco Island. Koreshan State Park made a great backdrop with old trees and Spanish moss draping from branches that extend over the Estero River. Koreshan State Park has parking and different old cottages for interesting backdrops for family members. The seasoned old wooden structures made a great excuse to make some pictures in black and white. Shown here are some of my favorite images we created at Koreshan Park in Estero Florida…
