Lady Chadwick Wedding
Susan and Guy asked me to photograph their wedding, on a boat in July. They were planning a Lady Chadwick wedding for a Sunday afternoon. The wedding couple were staying at a condominium in the South Seas Island Resort. This resort is just a mile from the marina where the Lady Chadwick is docked. I have photographed many interesting and fun weddings on the Lady Chadwick. We decided it would be great for a portion of the wedding photography to begin at the bride’s condo at South Seas Island Resort. I arrived and Guy was outside the condo in a golf cart. I chose a place on the green lawn overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. After a few pictures of the bride in her room, we had the ‘first look’ on the lawn.
Then the families of the wedding couple arrived for fun pictures with the great landscaping at South Seas Resort. We knew we had a departure at 6:00pm for the boat, so we all hurried to the McCarthy Marina on Captiva so we could leave on time.
Captiva Island Boat Weddings
All the guests were on board the Lady Chadwick when we arrived. So the captain welcomed Guy and Susan and we departed into the back bay waters of the island. The ceremony was on the top deck. Due to a few summer rain showers, it was delayed until just before sunset. Dinner and drinks were served in the lower deck cabin while we waited for the rain to stop. As the rains stopped, we saw dolphins jumping and splashing in the water just a few feet from the side of the Lady Chadwick. It all worked out just perfectly. The rain stopped and we had a great backdrop for the ceremony. After cake and desert, the bride and groom had their first dance. Their guests joined in the dancing under the bright stars. Shown here are some of my favorite images we captured on this Lady Chadwick wedding.
