Amy and Christian marry at Marco Hilton
This was a Marco Island Hilton intimate wedding for Amy and Christian who arrived from Ohio. They were joined by Amy’s mother and grandmother and two neices, Annee and Kylah. This was a unique experience for me…the afternoon storm clouds and thunder were nearby…..but it seemed we might make it through the ceremony in time. The guests and bride and groom made their entrance onto the Marco Island Beach without a drop of rain. We were into the ceremony a few minutes when the rain started….sheets of rain with low visibilty of the rest of the beach!! I have photographed in situations like this before and we would just run for cover….not this time! Pouring rain, sheets of rain….as a previous newspaper photographer, I learned never to leave the scene…expensive camera equipment and all. So quickly, the attentive staff for this Marco Island Hilton intimate wedding opened six umbrellas for us as Lisa continued the ceremony….yes…continued all through the ring exchange and the “I do’s”.

After the wedding kiss, we all ran to the Marco Hilton to dry off. The wedding coordinator, Marie helped us as we gathered and closed the umbrellas. We all looked at each other and laughed and realized nothing else was going to be photographed this evening. So there was laughter then a moment of tears when the bride hugged her new husband as she realized she was soaked, hair, gown and all. We agreed on meeting the next morning for some beach wedding photographs. The wedding party then left to change and dry off before their celebration dinner later that evening at the Marco Island Hilton. Shown here are some of my favorite images we created at this fun and memorable wedding, not only for the wedding party, but all the people who witnessed this Marco Island Hilton intimate wedding!
