Fun Celebration at 40th wedding anniversary!
Larry and Donna celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Marco Island. The ceremony was performed by Phyllis of Weddings by Phyllis. The Wednesday evening ceremony had the best weather with a soft cooling breeze coming from the north. The beach site was nicely decorated with an arch that included a light tulle that blew softly in the wind and orchids. It was all designed and prepared by the staff at Marco Island Florist. At around 6pm Larry arrived with the grandchildren, they were holding a big sign “Hey Papa here comes your bride”. We then took sometime to create various family photos including the grandparents with their grandchildren. The kids were ready for fun-we took the ‘serious’ family photos then they indulged in creating their idea of family photos – see below 🙂
Phyllis then began the wedding vow renewal ceremony around 7pm. The six grandchildren; Abbey, Natalie, Zachery, Emalie, Riley and Cade all walked down the aisle, the boys were holding the wedding rings and the girls held bouquets that matched the bride’s bouquet. Songs from the 70s played during the ceremony included The Carpenters, ‘We’ve only just begun’ and after the ceremony it was ‘Wipe Out’. We then all hurried to the beach to continue family photographs with the great sunset as a backdrop.
Wedding Vow Renewal
For over twenty years I have photographed Marco Island wedding vow renewals. Larry and Donna knew their wedding vow renewal celebration would be a great opportunity for their children Jeremy and Jessica, Julie and Aaron along with the grandchildren to gather in the warmth of a Marco Island winter for the event. The children definitely enjoyed the sea shells they found on the Marco Island beach. The families are all from the Oklahoma and Kansas area. After sunset, the family went back to Larry and Donna’s home on the island to enjoy a catered dinner. Shown here are some of my favorite images we created for their wedding vow renewal celebration.
