Sundial Beach Resort wedding
Kristin and Tim arrived with friends and family for their Sundial Beach Resort destination wedding. The wedding was on a Friday in February with great weather. Tim and Kristin are both from New Paltz in the Hudson Valley of New York. They met briefly in high school but really got to know each other while working at a local resort during their summers off from college. Tim works on his family’s apple farm and also works full-time in his own spin-off hard cider business. Kristin continued onto graduate school and got her masters in School Counseling while working as the manager of a wine shop in New Paltz. They settled on a Sundial beach resort destination wedding as their venue because they didn’t want a large wedding. Also, Kristin had her heart set on something outdoors. Kristin loves southwest Florida as she remembers visiting her grandmother there when she was younger. They finally decided to have an intimate wedding and chose a Sundial beach resort destination wedding. Kristin said the day was perfect, everything from the cloudless sky to the cheerful daisies. Just an hour before the wedding, I met Tim and groomsmen for some photographs. The men then went to the beach ceremony site when Kristin arrived with her attendants. After a brief ten minutes of bridal photographs, we were ready for the wedding ceremony on the beach. Patricia Slater of Weddings by the Sea was the official. Family and friends were seated by Alicia who was the wedding director for this Sundial beach Resort destination wedding. Kristin was then escorted by her father onto the sandy beach for the ceremony. After the nicely designed ceremony, Tim and Kristin were declared husband and wife!
Sundial beach resort destination wedding on Sanibel Island
The wedding director brought the guests to the beautiful garden area overlooking the beach. This garden area was a nice backdrop for family photographs! A fireplace was lit and I found it was a great setting for the family photos. The guests enjoyed cocktails while more photos were taken on the beach. The bridal party then joined their guests for the cocktail hour. Just before sunset, we walked back to the beach for sunset photographs. It was so easy to do since the Sundial Resort Garden was so close to the Gulf of Mexico! The bridal party made a fun ‘photo bomb’ in front of Kristin and Tim. The guests were then brought to the dining room where dinner would be served after the bride and groom were announced. Tim and Kristin then cut their wedding cake which was uniquely decorated. Shown here are my favorite images we created at this Sundial beach resort destination wedding.
