Intimate Wedding at the Marco Island Hilton
Bob and Martinique arrived to the luxurious Hilton for their intimate wedding on Marco Island. It was on a Friday evening just before sunset. The weather was pleasant with just a few rain clouds drifting by on this autumn day in tropical Marco Island. We met in the lobby so we could take a few photographs before our walk to the beach ceremony. The landscaping around the Marco Island Hilton hotel is lush with beautiful and well maintained palm trees and other tropical plants. We found a few areas that provided a great backdrop for our pictures. Just as we were walking back to the hotel lobby a quick rain shower popped up! Bob and Martinique ran for the door. I looked and yelled, ‘turn around’! They did and we captured this interesting photograph with rain drops blurring through the image. After the rain showers left, the sky was with a soft, white glow.We all met again in the lobby with Lynn, the wedding director. Lynn was coordinating the ceremony site with the Hilton staff. Everything was ready, we were just waiting for the last few rain drops to disappear. Tina, the wedding officiant was waiting with us in the lobby, we felt it was time to start towards the beach.
Weddings on Marco Island
For over twenty years I have photographed weddings on this beautiful island. I looked around and saw the soft light softly glowing through the passing rain clouds. I knew this light was great for photography. The Hilton staff lit the candles alongside the wedding arch and the ceremony began. The gentle words for the ceremony were spoken by Tina. Then she officially announced Bob and Martinique were husband and wife. A few beach goers were walking by and kindly gave their best wishes and applause. Bob rolled up his pant cuffs and we were taking photos as they walked along the beach, picking up sea shells. When we were finished with sunset pictures, this happy bride and groom went to their room where they were served a private dinner by the Hilton restaurant staff. Shown here are my favorite images we created.
