Fort Myers Wedding Photography
I love photographing weddings, for many years I have provided wedding photography on the beaches of Fort Myers! They’re happy days of hope and promise when two people join together and declare their love in front of the people who love them. I always feel honored to be a part of such and important, personal day to provide their wedding photography. I strive to embrace the natural beauty of the family, couples and children so you see the love and light within, not fake enhancements.
Sanibel and Captiva Beach Weddings
At many beach weddings, I begin wedding photography of the bride and groom before the ceremony while their family and friends might pick up their favorite shells as they walk along the seashore. The bright sun and rhythmic waves set a vacation mood and there’s always a relaxed, easy air about the day. The island beaches offer the rich colors of tropical foliage. Sunrise and sunset weddings give an opportunity for spectacular colors and romantic silhouettes in the changing light.
For those wanting to add and element of tradition, one charming ceremony location that I photograph near the beach is the hundred-year-old Chapel by the Sea on Captiva Island. Open November-April, this charming chapel also puts up a lovely display of lights at Christmas, which makes a pretty background for your tropical holiday wedding photo.
A short distance away from the Chapel by the Sea is the historic Tween Waters Inn. With the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Pine Island Sound to the east, Tween Waters Inn has over 13 acres of beach. Part of this is a gorgeous stretch of white sand that Travelocity rated “America’s Most Romantic Beach”. It’s a scenic spot for wedding photos.
I took these wedding photographs for the delightful Davis family on a Captiva Island beach. They renewed their wedding vows on their tenth anniversary with their seven children looking on.
Country Club Weddings
Wedding locations include many golf resorts in the Fort Myers area. If you want to have a classic, lavish affair with world-class food and scenic views, a country club wedding may be for you. Bonita Springs is located between Fort Myers and Naples. The pristine beaches face west with country clubs that have beach accesses for weddings.
I’ve been a part of many country-club weddings in the more than two decades that I’ve been a professional photographer in the Fort Myers area, and they are always tasteful and elegant. The flawless landscaping makes a color backdrop for your photos.
Hotel Resort Weddings
Hotel Resort weddings offer the best of both worlds. They bring the relaxed beauty of the beach together with the fine cuisine and service of a country club. Many couples choose to have their ceremonies on or close to the sand and then head back to the resort for the outdoor reception. Here is a recent destination wedding at the Outrigger Resort for this couple from Germany, I provided the wedding photography for this fun wedding. They arrived with family and friends and enjoyed a great vacation on Fort Myers Beach after the ceremony.
One resort that I love to photograph is the South Seas Island Resort. The trees and landscaping there have so much rich texture and contrast. There’s also a lovely walk path with a bridge and dock that make an interesting background. Visit this page for more information and pictures about Captiva Island Photography.
An all-in-one resort wedding location is the Bali Hi Estate on Captiva Island. This private 3-acre “mini-resort” is right on the beach. It has everything you could ask for, including a palatial master suite, hotel sized swimming pool and spa and kid’s playground right on the water. The groom can move his party to the comfortable guest house. This will give the bride plenty of space in the main house to get ready for the big day. Weddings here are elegant by relaxed affairs for up to 100 guests.
The beach wedding photography shown above is of Mr. and Mrs. Pavoni. They were married on a beautiful day in June. The intimate wedding was on Sanibel Island at a secluded beach offered by Patricia Slater, owner of Weddings by the Sea.
